65 Crutched Friars, London

The project involves transforming a former five-storey office block on a prominent corner site in the City of London into a landmark mixed-use development. After demolishing the building down to basement level, construction will begin on a 21-storey, purpose-built student accommodation scheme, providing over 700 residences.

The development will also house the new permanent home of London’s Migration Museum, occupying 30,000 sq ft across the lower three floors. Located at 65 Crutched Friars, the site previously housed the HFW Office Building. Historic features, including two Friars statues from the original façade, have been carefully removed and will be integrated into the new external landscaping.

Vercon was tasked to deliver dynamic traffic analysis and expert planning guidance for the project, alongside developing a detailed specification document for the tender process. Partnering with leading lift suppliers, Vercon crafted a comprehensive lift solution that included 4 passenger/goods lifts and a Cycle lift, specifically designed to meet and exceed the operational needs of the site. This lift package ensures smooth and efficient transportation within the development, aligning with the project’s high standards for functionality and performance.
